Nature's role in feeling well
Did you know that walking in nature is a powerful anti-depressant? Not just because you get active but also because connecting in nature grounds us and connects to the Earth's energies. When we can notice our surroundings and connect with the beauty in nature we can breathe more easily. Even a brief stroll around your local park can get you out of your head and into your body.
Try using your senses to feel connected, as though you are a new born baby experiencing your surroundings for the first time - what can you see, hear, touch, smell? How does it feel to be where you are right now, in this particular moment? Breathe in the air, feel the wind on your face, notice the sound under your feet.
The more connected and less isolated we are - the more we can begin to develop a sense of connection and contentment.
Go on, what's stopping you today?
